IT-Ernity acquisition of CloudVPS
CloudOrigin advised fast-growing Dutch Internet and IT Service provider IT-Ernity on their purchase of leading Dutch cloud provider CloudVPS. This transaction will enable IT-Ernity to offer end-to-end solutions to all customers, covering public, private and hybrid clouds, networking and managed services.
Rotterdam-based CloudVPS has been offering virtual servers since 2007 and earlier this year launched the first public European cloud based on OpenStack technology. The company provides customers with flexible, cost-effective, self- or semi-managed cloud environments. While CloudVPS solutions have proved popular across all sectors, they have achieved particular traction in the financial and public sectors, where comprehensive and demonstrable data privacy is essential.
IT-Ernity is one of the leading IT service providers in the Dutch market, offering a wide range of internet and hosting services to over 50,000 customers. Integration with CloudVPS will ensure continued innovation and expansion of the service portfolio and increased choice for customers. The move is the latest in a series of strategic acquisitions and follows the acquisition of Networking and Unified Communications leader Signet BV in December last year.

CloudOrigin CEO, Richard Hall, led the IT and Operational Due Diligence process, having performed the same function on behalf of GMT Communication Partners and VSS when they backed IT-Ernity as a growth investment in 2013 – which was named European TMT Deal of the Year by Acquisition International magazine.
